Logistics Manager


The shipping manager position supervises and coordinates activities of workers responsible in the shipping department.  This position is also responsible for shipments going out to customers and/or vendors.



  • Determine work procedures, prepare work schedules and expedite workflow.
  • Issue written and oral instructions.
  • Assign duties and examine work for exactness, neatness and conformance to policies and procedures.
  • Study and standardize procedures to improve efficiency of workers.
  • Maintain harmony among workers.
  • Interview and hire new employees.
  • Confer with other stakeholders to ensure coordination of other functions such as production, inventory management and quality assurance.
  • Ensure correct shipment of orders.
  • Identify employees’ skills and develop them by coaching and counseling employees on a regular basis.
  • Conduct performance reviews and provide continual feedback on both positive and negative performance.
  • Ensure the completion of all required paperwork.
  • Other duties as required.



This position manages all employees of the department and is responsible for the performance management and hiring of the employees within that department.



  • Bachelor Degree preferred, but not required.
  • 3-5 years of experience leading a shipping department.



  • AS400 experience preferred
  • Ability to lead in a positive manner.
  • Ability to meet strict deadlines and meet production needs.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced shipping/warehouse environment strongly preferred.
  • Must be able to critically think and problem solve issues as they arise.


Work Environment/Physical Demands:

Position will be in a production/warehouse environment which will include bending, lifting (up to 40+ lbs.), pushing, pulling, climbing and walking 15+ miles per day.  The position must also be able to operate office equipment.
